An unforgettable summer in Killarney: Hopefully you will have already heard of our ESE programme, English Summer Experiences. We have several great destinations to choose from. Today we are going to talk about one of our top destinations: Killarney, in Ireland.

The crown jewel of our English Summer Experience

Killarney is synonymous with beauty, magical nature, since this town is the gateway to one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the world. The Emerald Isle has everything you would want for a student coming to learn English in one of the most touristic cities in Ireland. A student who chooses this destination will have a unique linguistic experience especially if they are a lover of nature, outdoor activities and sports. It’s an experience that they will never forget, where they will have the opportunity to learn about the great culture of Ireland that has so many Celtic overtones, with so much history and myths. They will live with local families who will welcome them as one of their own, integrating them thanks to their hospitality which is so characteristic of the Irish, and whose character is open and welcoming and very similar to the Spanish. They will learn, perfect and put the language into practice in a country that is highly recommended for students of these ages and who are beginning to travel outside their country for the first time.

Strengthen their spoken language

Students will sit a test to determine their level of English prior to their summer stay. They will attend a total of 20 weekly hours of classes, during the mornings from Monday to Friday, and will be taught by native teachers. Although they are mainly focused on improving speaking and listening skills, students will work on all four linguistic skills of the language. The sessions will be dynamic, eye-catching and fun, making use of exercises such as roleplays and having the opportunity to put what they have learned into practice in their day-to-day activities. 

We offer preparation lessons for Cambridge, Oxford Test of English or EOI level exams. Our programme supports the studies of the student who is preparing for any official English exams. We give students the possibility of taking the Oxford Test of English on the way back from their stay. Nathalie Language Experiences is an authorised examination center of the University of Oxford for carrying out the OTE.

Activities and trips: It’s summertime!

Above all, students want to enjoy their holiday, make new friends, strengthen ties with their classmates and, of course, get to know the wonderful destination they have chosen. For this we have a complete programme of cultural and sports activities every afternoon, for example : surfing, bike rides through the national park, hiking in Torc Mountain, a tour Ring of Kerry, and more.

 On weekends we go one better. We will have 2 weekend trips to:

• A Multiadventure Camp: Students will be able to enjoy the incredible Irish nature. It’s a weekend full of outdoor activities such as kayaking, canoeing, paddle surfing, climbing, hillwalking, nature hunt, and many more. The activities will be specific to the ages of the students.
• Dublin: We will pay a visit to the capital of Ireland where we will discover its most emblematic places: Temple Bar, Grafton St, O’Connell St, Trinity College, St Stephens Green, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Christ Church, the Castle of Dublin and much more.

And one day-long trip to:

• Ross Castle: it’s only a stone’s throw, on the shores of Lake Leane. It’s a beautiful fortification which dates from the 15th century.
• Gap of Dunloe: it’s an impressive glacial valley that crosses to the west with the MacGillycuddy’s Reeks mountain range and to the east, with the Purple Mountain. An 11 kilometer gorge, it’s full of natural charm to contemplate and to fill your lungs with fresh mountain air.

As a general rule, they spend Sundays with their host families, where they will also make fun plans, such as having barbecues or hiking.
